Description

With the service running and the screen showing, data sound from all sound devices (onboard sound, USB headset, HDMI audio from GPU) on my system stutters and skips. Likely the device not the app but I thought I'd drop a note here.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run the python script to show data on the screen.

Environment:

  • Smart screen model Turing 3.5”
  • Revision of this project 3.5.0
  • Python version 3.12
  • Hardware:
    Operating System: Fedora Linux 40
    KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.3
    KDE Frameworks Version: 6.4.0
    Qt Version: 6.7.2
    Kernel Version: 6.9.12-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: Wayland
    Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core Processor
    Memory: 62.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
    Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
    Product Name: MS-7D53
MSI MPG Edge MAX Wifi X570S

Does not happen in Windows. Does happen in Ubuntu and Debian.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by running the Python script with the service active on a Linux system and verify whether audio stutters across onboard, USB, and HDMI devices; compare with Windows behavior and identify whether the service is responsible. Done means the cause is isolated and a reproducible fix or clear diagnosis is documented.
