Description
In System Preferences > Displays there's a checkbox that is checked by default to "Automatically Adjust Brightness".
I've looked for ways to turn this off programmatically but haven't found anything. I thought I'd suggest it here in hopes that someone else knows and it's of general interest to the community.

Research direction
The issue points to System Preferences > Displays and the “Automatically Adjust Brightness” checkbox, but names no repository file, test, or entry point. Start by determining whether macOS exposes a supported programmatic setting; done would require a concrete, reproducible way to disable the checkbox and a way to validate it.
