Description

What is affected?

Component

Description
<md-outlined-text-field id="file"
                                    type="file"
                                    label="KML file"
                                    accept=".kml"
                                    required>

Accept seems to be ignored. It should filter the files in my file chooser based on accept, but it doesn't.

Reproduction

Add type="file" accept=".png" to a text input then click it.

Workaround

Workaround is to not use a material input.

Is this a regression?

No or unsure. This never worked, or I haven't tried before.

Research direction

Start with the text field component implementation and reproduce the issue using a text input configured with type="file" and accept=".png". Compare the component's behavior with the native file chooser and verify that accepted-file filtering works for the reported KML and PNG examples.
