Research direction

Start at the TextInputLayout suffixText and suffixTextAppearance entry points and reproduce the reported alignment with the provided XML on Android API 30 using Material Library 1.2.0. Trace how the suffix text is positioned and verify that its gravity can match the expected filled text-field appearance without breaking the supplied example.
