Description

Output actual app name of an installed app, not an approximation.

Cannot obtain it from Spotlight or from CFBundleName or CFBundleDisplayName from ./Contents/Info.plist.

See "WFMU Radio" (324175340), which is only listed as "WFMU" in both sources.

Can always obtain the exact app name from the iTunes Search web API, and can cache it in the extended attributes for the app folder, refreshing the cached copy whenever there's a version mismatch.

Research direction

Start by tracing how installed app names are currently obtained from Spotlight and Contents/Info.plist. Review the iTunes Search web API and extended attributes as the proposed sources, including how a cached name should be refreshed on a version mismatch. Done means the WFMU Radio example and similar apps display their exact names.
