Description
"NFS doesn't work with the stock kernel - nfs-common installs fine - no errors - but mount nfs results in "mount.nfs: No such device", there's no "nfs" in /proc/filesystems and modprobe and lsmod return nothing."

Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported mount failure and inspect the kernel configuration and build inputs for NFS support. Done means the stock kernel exposes NFS in /proc/filesystems and an NFS mount succeeds without the reported "No such device" error.
