Description

  • Is this an issue (and hence not a question)?

The @BeanMapping annotation doesn't support the ElementType#ANNOTATION_TYPE @Target, unlike @Mapping, which prevents it from being used in meta-annotations (for mapping composition), eg. to ignore unmapped source properties.

Research direction

Locate the @BeanMapping declaration and compare its @Target with @Mapping, focusing on ElementType#ANNOTATION_TYPE. Verify that @BeanMapping can be used in meta-annotations for mapping composition, including ignoring unmapped source properties.
