Description
The search bar as it is currently is confusing for newbies, and the map by itself also does not give enough information for people to discover new challenges.
There should be a view that just lists the challenges, similar to the table we already have in the metrics display but less focused on metrics and more on discovery. It should to my mind have the following columns:
- Name
- Created by (links to OSM profile)
- Date created
- Percent complete
- Hotness (to be defined, some metric based on activity in the past days / weeks, number of users)
There should also be a way to narrow down by country.
I propose the front page be switchable between this list view and the map view. Default should be this list.
Needs discussion!!

Research direction
Review the existing search bar, map view, and metrics display, and read the related issue #187 before proposing an implementation. The scope and the definition of “hotness” need agreement first; done would include an agreed list/map front-page switch, challenge columns, and country filtering.
