Description
I'd like to use rio-hist, but I need some additional features like less than 3 bands, floating point bands,...
I started implementing these changes in a [fork of rio-hist](https://github.com/theroggy/rio-hist) but it would obviously be better if they could be included in the original repo.
If I open pull requests, any chance they would be merged?

Research direction
Review the rio-hist repository and the linked fork to understand the existing histogram-matching entry points and how the proposed support for fewer than three bands and floating-point bands is implemented there. Confirm the maintainer's acceptance criteria before separating the work into pull requests; completion would mean agreed feature scope and submitted changes with matching validation.
