Description
Currently, when computing pixel offsets relative to tile indices we hop back and forth between an index value & pixel values. It would be more straightforward to stay in pixels the entire time.

Research direction
No files or tests are named. Locate the code that computes pixel offsets from tile indices, then trace each conversion between index and pixel units. Done means the calculation remains in pixels throughout while preserving the existing tile-stitching behavior.
