Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in mapbox-gl-js 0.50.0 with an AttributionControl set to compact at bottom-left in Chrome, then trace the AttributionControl positioning logic. Done means the compact icon is flush with the map’s bottom-left corner and remains aligned with the attribution shown on hover.
