Description
Per the docs "Globe does not yet support CustomLayerInterface". Implying there may be plans to do so. Our company plans to extend our map to render satellites and aircraft, there appears no way currently to render custom 2D or 3D objects at elevation with globe view! This would be a huge unlock for us!
I'm also hoping to render geojson like this: https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-js/issues/13182
For numerous reasons, the Mercator projection is suboptimal for our use cases. Please advise if this is a priority, if there are plans or a timeline. The Globe view is begging for it!
Thanks

Research direction
Start by reviewing the documented CustomLayerInterface and Globe support, then compare the requested custom 2D/3D objects at elevation with the linked GeoJSON globe use case. Clarify the intended scope and acceptance criteria before identifying implementation entry points; done would mean CustomLayerInterface support works in Globe view for the requested elevated objects.
