This behaviour is still there, don't know if it's still the same underlying cause as #36

Research direction
Start by tracing the fetchDirections entry point and reproduce the marker-dragging behavior shown in the attached GIF. Review issue #36 for the suspected underlying cause and determine how handler firing should be delayed during dragging. Done means dragging markers no longer fires the affected handlers prematurely.
