Description

Imported from the engineering backlog (_bmad-output/implementation-artifacts/backlog.md, story authenticity-checklist).
Priority P3 (do-first order) | Severity: low (cosmetic) | Status: open | Epic: OpenSkyscraper docs | Type: review-deferral | Recorded: 2026-07-07

What needs fixing

Ready: process artifact. Turn the ~10 original-game screenshots in OpenSkyscraper doc/simtower/ into a renderer-authenticity checklist for review sessions (underground palette, elevator shaft/car rendering, lobby dressing, hotel room states), incl. the insight that the original's day/night is a palette swap (resource 0xFF03): our dusk/dawn should read as a global tint ramp, not per-sprite lighting.

Research direction

Review the approximately 10 original-game screenshots in doc/simtower/ and use the authenticity-checklist story in _bmad-output/implementation-artifacts/backlog.md as context. Organize observations into checklist sections for the underground palette, elevator shaft and car rendering, lobby dressing, and hotel room states. Include that day/night uses palette-swap resource 0xFF03 and define done as a review-ready checklist covering those items.
