Description

As can be seen in [this version of a photo of Angela Merkel](https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:12-03-06-cebit-eroeffnung-angela-merkel-21.jpg&oldid=477649521), QuickStatements has created a duplicate Depicts (P180) statement there. Maybe this is related to the fact that the already-existing statement had the 'prominent' flag and the [QuickStatements batch](https://quickstatements.toolforge.org/#/batch/21973) was not instructed to assign these.

In any case, preferred behavior would be that QuickStatements would not create a new statement in such a case.

Research direction

Start with the linked Wikimedia Commons revision and QuickStatements batch 21973 to compare the existing prominent Depicts (P180) statement with the duplicate created by the batch. The issue names no source file or test, so trace the statement-creation path and determine how existing statements and the prominent flag are handled. Done means an existing matching statement is not duplicated when processing a batch.
