Mycoloth copy interaction: Last ability lost?


_"Devour 2 (As this enters, you may sacrifice any number of creatures. This creature enters with twice that many +1/+1 counters on it.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token for each +1/+1 counter on Mycoloth."_

When I copy Mycoloth, for example with Moritte below, I get access to it's Devour 2 ability, but not the Saproling creature token generation ability for each beginning of my upkeep

You may have Moritte of the Frost enter as a copy of a permanent you control, except it's legendary and snow in addition to its other types and, if it's a creature, it enters with two additional +1/+1 counters on it and has changeling."_

So let's say I don't Devour any creatures with the new Moritte-copied Mycoloth, I still get the 2 +1/+1s, but for some reason, I don't get to create 2 Saproling creature tokens with it
