Description

Right now setting transparnecy in Vim to non-zero would cause the entire title bar to go transparent. This is due to a workaround with how view layers work but the end result looks suboptimal. We should fix it to look correct and solve the problem correctly.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reading the linked discussion and tracing MacVim's transparency and view-layer handling; done means a non-zero Vim transparency setting leaves the title bar visibly correct rather than making it completely transparent.
