Description

Expected Behavior

Upgrade should be transparent and not wipe out stored default credentials.

Current Behavior

Applying MSI installer from 1.77.0 (or 1.76.x) clears stored credentials under Tools > Options > Credentials > The Following

Possible Solution

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Install mRemoteNG 1.76.x
  2. Store some credentials under Tools > Options > Credentials > the Following
  3. Close mRemoteNG
  4. Upgrade using MSI to 1.77.1 (ie. the current beta)
  5. Go look under Tools > Options > Credentials - the radio button is now on "none" and the credentials are blank

Context

Upgrade irritation - no more

Your Environment

  • Version used: 1.77.1.27654
  • Operating System and version (e.g. Windows 10 1709 x64): Win 10 x64, 1909

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are identified in the issue. First reproduce the upgrade from 1.76.x or 1.77.0 to 1.77.1 with credentials stored under Tools > Options > Credentials, then trace the installer or upgrade path; done means the selected credential setting and stored credentials remain after the upgrade.
