Default branch name change + Dependencies update?

Description
Few times I got confused why the main branch name was `master` instead of `main` and found out the base template itself has `master` even though I had set `main` as default in my git & github settings
Also can dependencies have an update?
(I was going to submit a PR, but it basically goes into `master`, so I opted to submit an issue instead)
