**Describe your problem**
I followed the instructions up to section 2, except for me, instead of analog-output-speaker.conf it's analog-output-lineout.conf. I changed the [Element Headphone] section as described, but there was no [Jack Headphone] section in my file (not sure if that's normal), so I just pasted the text block from the instructions as a new section.
Once I save the changes to the conf file and restart the audio server, audio plays through my headphones port (front jack on my case) no matter what port I select (either Headphones or Lineout). Unplugging the port does make audio correctly go to my Lineout port (the rear jack of my motherboard).
Attempting the fix detailed in 2.2 (even if the title doesn't exactly apply to my issue) results in the audio disappearing entirely from my KDE audio widget, leaving only my HDMI audio (integrated speakers in one of my monitors).
To summarize: with the starting setup, selecting Lineout port with both devices plugged in results in no audio anywhere. After following section 2, selecting either port results in the device connected to the Headphones port playing audio.
