open link in new tab displays only blank page, still an issue ['r'eload key works]

Description
Same issue as #834 which is marked closed although the problem of luakit opening to a blank display is still present.
If this is going to be the default behavior, it would help new users like myself to have the "theme" display:
"Press the 'r' key to reload the display as a workaround to the blank display."
Incidentally, pressing 'r' is required for Every :tabopen, although not for :open.
