Description
Currently consecutive lines can be merged if they follow the same pattern, but that does not help you when with an "abababab" case where distinct lines (not matching a common pattern) are spammed, when you don't want throw the wildcard "*" pattern at it which may then hide other interesting stuff.
So it would be useful to exclude specific patterns without needing to glob everything (which hides potentially interesting lines!)

Research direction
No file or test is named in the issue. Start by locating hxbrief's entry point and its existing consecutive-line pattern-merging logic, then determine how exclusions should be expressed and verify that selected patterns can be dropped without wildcard suppression hiding unrelated lines, including the described abababab case.
