Found by running ycsb on FUSE:

Research direction
Reproduce the problem using the two linked YCSB GitHub Actions runs and compare FUSE mode with preload mode, which is reported unaffected. Use the failure output and related pull request #38 to identify the corruption path; done means FUSE no longer corrupts the database under YCSB.
