Getting invalid criteria expression prevents save study even after expression is fixed

When I tried using an invalid criteria expression on the add study page, it gave me an "invalid criteria" error at the top of the page, but when I tried to fix the error, or even just remove the expression entirely, the form would still refuse to submit, and the criteria expression error would persist.

When I refresh the page and tried again with the same, corrected criteria expression, it submitted normally.
