Description

Distributed HBase ingest fails when using Keberos

This may just be a kerberos configuration issue, or may require some additional code to pass around the tickets correctly.

Emilio Lahr-Vivaz did any of our looking at HBase turn up anything relative to this?

Also, should we prioritize this?

I don't think we've found anything relevant to this. I don't think it's necessarily a priority right now, but might be good to have in our back pocket so we could go ahead and figure it out if we have time.

Research direction

Start by reproducing distributed HBase ingest with Kerberos enabled and checking the Kerberos configuration and ticket handling. Determine whether the failure is configuration-related or requires code to pass tickets correctly. Done means distributed ingest succeeds under Kerberos authentication.
