Description
the system of "generate all tests" then "delete tests user isn't interested in" isn't working anymore now that there's a huge growth in permutation of tests (i.e. spark 2.2.0 w/ hadoop 2.6 & 2.7, phoenix 4.13 with hbase 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3). It's taking too long to generate tests.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the scripts that generate the full test matrix and delete unselected tests, then measure where permutation growth dominates for the Spark, Hadoop, Phoenix, and HBase combinations. Done should mean the tests no longer generate every permutation before filtering, with equivalent selection behavior and improved generation time.
