Research direction
After caliper's Python reader is released, inspect the SPOT notebooks and identify where new metadata-extraction examples belong. Use the reader's filtering interface as the starting point, then add notebook cells showing how to extract metadata and filter cali files. Done means the examples run and clearly demonstrate both operations.
