Description
There is a checkSorted method, but it writes an error message specific to an application. We should have a method that just returns a Boolean so it is more usable.

Research direction
Start by locating the existing checkSorted method and the surrounding algorithm API. Compare the requested is_sorted behavior with std::is_sorted, then identify the relevant tests or callers to establish expected inputs and results. Done means a Boolean-returning method is available without an application-specific error message and its behavior is covered by tests.
