Description
It seems more reliable and more likely to get the first updates as new features come out. For example, pulid doesn't seem to support contorlnet in forge.

Research direction
The issue requests disabling the built-in ControlNet so an external ControlNet can be used, but names no files, tests, or entry points. First locate the built-in ControlNet integration and determine whether external replacement is supported; done means the external ControlNet can be enabled without the built-in one and the behavior is covered by appropriate tests.
