Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by examining the repository's ControlNet training and model-loading paths, then determine whether merging a LoRA-trained Stable Diffusion model changes the assumptions used by ControlNet; done means a documented, evidence-based answer about whether retraining is required.
