Endless ads and bait farm attention for reach on centralized platforms. Want to be a creator? There’s no clear path to monetize without kayfabe gimmicks.
SB replaces Substack, Beehiiv and Patreon with an open source, web3, self-publishing toolkit. Designed for shortform video from the start, with text posts, longform writing, newsletters, image posts, and podcasts. Agents, Lens and more built in.

A fully functional web app launched to production. Users will be able to edit, publish, and interact with shortform videos in their content community stack.
Key components: Livepeer AI subtitling and recognition; Lens, Farcaster, Bluesky and AI agent workflow integrations; meme token sticker pack reactions; crypto-native and Stripe payments options; and quiz based creator niche validation funnel.

Milestone 1: Design and Initial Architecture of All Components.
Design a scalable system for multi-format content publishing, with Livepeer handling video processing at its core. Define APIs for content creation, management, and distribution across decentralized social networks. Architect payment systems supporting both crypto and fiat transactions. Map creator workflows from content ingestion through publishing and monetization. Validate architecture through working API endpoints that demonstrate basic content flows and Livepeer integration.

We publish the process of building, using, and maintaining SB, as shortform videos, image carousels, and multiformat writing. Each feature launch doubles as live testing - if something breaks or missing features block our growth, we fix it first. We'll use SB to build SB, so our own usage drives constant refinement.
## Please describe (in words) your team's relevant experience, and why you think you are the right team to build this project. You can cite your team's prior experience in similar domains, doing similar dev work, individual team members' backgrounds, etc.
I’ll frontload the most relevant experience to save us time:
— First “real job” (late 90s into 00s) was at Oblivion.net, as an indie cypherpunk, proto-meme culture, ‘net rights, p2p tech zine publisher. Ran editorial, and shotgun as needed on frontend designs and backend fixes, for the newsletter based community. Reached low 100,000s membership volume + syndication at peak (which was a lot back then).
— Co-founded an inbox based community-as-software startup in the early 2010s, Alchemy (rebranded from Superpowered), where structured inputs, hassle free UX, and relentlessly simple code matched latent skills, opportunities, and connections in mixed trust communities at rates 30x better than the industry leader. Wound it down when we failed to adapt quickly enough on per seat pricing (vs group pricing) to Slack’s launch and historically fast adoption rate for the time. Never hit product revenue model fit.

Recent personal project: Invoke Agents — (new) An agent workflow interface as a service. Users save content to intake hooks, invoke sessions where agents draw out reactions to that content by mutual inference with users, reaction content is published to selected channels and formats, and listeners are set to track how well outcomes match expectations.
This project is an ongoing test of a key question within Stochastic Blue: How can creators, and anyone who interacts through content online, use agents to publish consistently, clearly, and with skill that can be too hard to earn otherwise?
We can skip the long lists of detailed dev experience running backends, designing frontends, too many late nights interrogating why systems are failing, etc.
The milestones section does a better job of telling you what you need to know there.
## Who is your target user group? How do you plan on getting your users to use this?
SB includes tools that solve the cold start creative challenge - helping self-publishers and indie outlets find, validate, connect with, and grow their audience. We'll use these same tools to build SB's user base, proving the model works. Our growth becomes the case study for how Livepeer-powered features drive sustainable creator success.
## How did you learn about the Livepeer Grants Program?
I learned about Livepeer itself years ago, around the time it launched, from friends in some of the earliest NYC startup and coworking communities. I’ve watched while it’s grown, and also, heard more directly about the grants program experience from teams who’ve gone through it before.
## Was this project started at a hackathon or another web3 event? Which one?
No, it wasn’t. While I’ve participated in, won, volunteered, mentored, and co-organized dozens of hackathons and events in the past, this project draws from themes, experiences, unsolved problems, and work in fields I’ve been deeply involved in over many years.

Operational notes:
Starting work ahead of the grant application process. If approved, the best structure would be to split payments into 5, where there is:

A more personal take:
I’ve spent my entire life understanding how humanity interacts with tech, from individual people to macro behaviors. Not just in abstractions, but as lived experience. As a restaurant brat in my earliest years near Columbia University, Cold War refugee intellectuals, artists, mathematical physicists, counter-cultural computing engineers, and writers of all kinds taught me what it means to rebuild human connection and knowledge transfer networks after irrecoverable loss. I learned everything I could from them.
Later, I co-published Oblivion.net during the first waves of the meme culture era and worked on community software and voting systems for civil rights organizations. These aren’t just projects or milestones in a resume—they shaped how I understand the way trust and information move through systems.
From early BBS tinkering to Web3 and AI, I’ve gotten my hands dirty with work on the most direct tools shaping the flow of connection and information, while doing my best to avoid too much attention in the Dark Forest. I've learned the hard way that these patterns are about more than the need for technical and financial decentralization: platforms promise to add value for creative users and bait-switch to value extraction as soon as they lock in market share. Signals get distorted instead of clarified or amplified. I’ve watched these cycles repeat since the early days of the analog -> digital shift.
This project isn’t really about its features—it’s resolving the underlying problems that finally have good solutions. Building paths to tools that everyday creative people can use to earn reach, monetization, and community, grounded in years of learning what doesn't work, and testing what does.
