Description
### Summary
Podman is a lightweight alternative to Docker that doesn't require a service to execute containers, and it's rootless by default.
Right now it's possible to use Podman enabling the socket to emulate Docker, but I think it would be a nice addition to have native support for it.

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the existing Docker-based fixture integration and its tests, then identify the runtime entry point that would need native Podman handling. Done means Podman works without enabling a Docker-compatible socket and the behavior is covered by tests.
