Description
Deliverables
It makes sense for us to generate the .gitignore file here as the build is what determines (most) of the ignored files.
Let's use the 'edit-section' project so we can deal smartly with existing .gitignore files.
Deliverables
- implement handling of creating a new file; use
edit-sectionhere too so that users can add their own config later - handle existing file, use edit section (it's OK if we end up duplicating ignores)

Research direction
Start by examining how the build determines ignored files and how the edit-section project is used. Implement generation for both a new .gitignore and an existing file, preserving a section where users can add configuration; done means both deliverables work without preventing custom entries.
