Bug description

We have a networked HP m479fdw color printer that we print to from Linux mint. Virtually all of the time it works without any difficulties for all applications. In the rare case that the document does not print, xreader appears to be going through the process of printing but nothing is printed and no error seems to be generated. The printer does not seem to be contacted during this process according to the printer. I cannot determine what makes a PDF printable and what not. It does not seem to be based on the overall size or number of pages. The problem does not seem to be limited to one specific computer, this problem has occurred on two other computers.

However, I was surprised when these documents were able to be printed when viewing it in chromium and printing it from there. I have had mixed results with printing these documents via various web browsers, but have had success with chrome/chromium (specifically Brüche erweitern und kürzen.pdf, none of the attached documents could be printed using xreader)

I am attaching a file with system info, a zip with 3 files that do not print and a debug log file from xreader. The debug log file is the result of starting up xreader with a file passed in on the command line, the file was printed and then the xreader was exited.

Steps to reproduce

run xreader with one of the pdf files as a argument, print the printer icon and select the printer and press ok.

Expected behavior

The document should print

Research direction

Start by reviewing GemischteZahlen.pdf.log and system.info.txt, then reproduce the print attempt described in the issue with the PDFs in Issuesprinting.zip. Compare xreader's behavior with the successful Chromium print path. Done means the affected PDFs print successfully from xreader or the failure is narrowed to a documented cause.
