When a document file is opened using xreader as any user other than root, it always opens to the previously read page, which is a helpful feature to have.
But when a filie is opened as root, it always opens from the start of the document.

Expected behavior
The document should open to the previously read page

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in Xreader on Mint 21.1, comparing document opening as a regular user and as root. Trace how the previously read page is restored in each case; done means a document opened as root returns to its previously read page, with regression coverage if the project provides a relevant test location.
