Bug description

If I press + f to search for a string, often Xreader hangs or the whole xfce desktor hangs.

Steps to reproduce

Download and open the file https://www.gigadevice.com.cn/Public/Uploads/uploadfile/files/20220714/DS-00543-GD25LQ32E-Rev1.4.pdf (I use FireFox 120.0 - 64)
Press + for the search operation

Expected behavior
  1. The application stops responding to mouse clicks in menus and keystrokes and after 2 - 3 minutes the system reports that the application hangs.
  2. The whole desktop hangs and does not respond to mouse and keyboard except for + + T.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the hang in Xreader on Linux Mint 21.2 with the linked PDF, then trace the Ctrl+F search operation and its interaction with the desktop. Done means the PDF can be searched repeatedly without Xreader or the XFCE desktop becoming unresponsive.
