Xreader does not load or remember printing settings correctly

Issue
I need to print a lot of different documents (PDF) - sometimes greyscale, sometimes colour, sometimes one-sided, sometimes duplex... To make this task easier, I duplicated my one physical printer in LinuxMint and set the defaults to a) grey/one-sided, b) grey/duplex, c) colour/one-sided, d) colour/duplex. This way, upon printing I only have to select the right printer with one click instead of stepping through and adjusting all the print settings all the time.
This works very well with other applications (e.g. LibreOffice), but Xreader doesn't change any settings at all when another printer is selected.

Steps to reproduce

• Create multiple printers with different default settings (e.g. colour/greyscale) in LinuxMint
• Open a PDF with Xreader
• Use "File/Print..."
• Check settings (eg. colour/greyscale)
• Select another printer with different default settings
• Settings did not change

Expected behaviour
I see two options:
a) Xreader always loads the default settings of a printer as set in LinuxMint's printer setup. Selecting a different printer in "File/Print..." loads the default settings of that newly selected printer.
b) If Xreader remembers the last used printing settings, it should remember on a per-printer basis.

No files or tests are named. Start by reproducing the File/Print flow with duplicated printers having different defaults, then trace how Xreader handles printer selection and printing settings. Done means selecting another printer loads its defaults, or settings are correctly remembered per printer.
