XReader 1.4.4 issues with selecting text in tables in PDFs

Issue
Selecting text with XReader in tables in PDFs, like the attached TV-1209-05h_FX-8-10h_Sam_OtA.pdf, works weird and often unpredictable.
Instead of highlighting the text in one block like expected, XReader selects a whole row or part of it or jumps someplace to the next row.

Steps to reproduce

• Open attached TV-1209-05h_FX-8-10h_Sam_OtA.pdf in XReader 1.4.4

• Go to Ch35/FX at 8AM and try to select the text block for "Rise of the Guardians (2012)"

• XReader won't select anything in this block, but instead starts highlighting text in the row below (Ch36/Freeform, or was it Ch27/A&E?).

• Try selecting text from any other program block and be amazed by the unpredictable, yet mostly unwanted results ;-)

• Starting to select text on Ch36/FX at 7:30h "How I Met Your Mother" all the way down to Ch27/A&E at 8AM selects text from random blocks and completely leaves out others, including the wanted "Rise of the Guardians (2012)":

• Trying to select text for "Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (1980)" on Ch36/Freeform at 6AM includes text from the blocks left and right to it:

Reproduce the problem with the attached TV-1209-05h_FX-8-10h_Sam_OtA.pdf in XReader 1.4.4, following the selection steps for the listed program blocks. Then trace the text-selection behavior responsible for table-like PDF layouts and compare it with the expected screenshot. Done means selecting each program block highlights the intended text without jumping to adjacent rows or columns.
