Login screen not shown on external screen, laptop lid has to be opened

Every time the laptop is turned off or restarted, I have to open the lid to get into the OS, because the login screen doesn't show on the external screen (check video).

Changing this setting doesn't help either:

Happens on all LM versions I tried: the standard one, the HWE 6.17 and HWE 7.0. Cinnamon every time.

The issue is not present on:

• KDE Fedora
• KDE Ultramarine
• KDE CachyOS
• GNOME Debian
• GNOME Fedora

That's why I think it might be a Cinnamon issue.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Linux Mint.
2. Shut down the laptop or restart it.
3. Turn on the laptop if turned off.

Expected behavior

I never have to open the laptop lid.
The login screen is shown on the external screen every time.

First reproduce the issue on Linux Mint with Cinnamon 6.6.9 using an external display, then trace how the greeter selects and initializes displays during shutdown and restart. Done means the login screen appears on the external screen without opening the laptop lid.
