Fingerprint Login Error

Issue

Native fingerprint "menu" option would be nice in the Users/Login menu, like Ubuntu have.

Installing fprintd can make the sensor work, the only issue is that after reboot, the first system start up login. Login screen come up, fingerprint is accepted, yet cannot login. It creates an endless loop.
Got a fear never can login, but fortunately if you do not put your fingerprint, just wait, it will time out and only then ask for password.
Before no option to ask password instead.

Steps to reproduce

Very easy. Install fingerprint auth, and every restart of the machine it will not work properly. Not only one time, but all the times faulty.

Expected behaviour

Obviously should login flawlessly.

Other information

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 if it does matter.

Start at the slick-greeter login screen with fprintd installed and reproduce the first-login loop after reboot on the reported Mint and ThinkPad setup. Compare fingerprint and password behavior, then verify that an accepted fingerprint completes login or that a password option is available without waiting for timeout.
