Description
In setups with remote logins (sssd, openid etc.) it would be nice to have the network applet on the login screen so people can select an available wifi before logging in. Otherwise the login will fail on the initial creation of the profile as the credentials can't be verified.
Clearly this is mostly an issue for enterprise setups and even there mostly for mobile workstations, but might be nice to have anyway.
Thanks for considering.

Research direction
Start by reviewing how slick-greeter handles the login screen and available network connections; the issue does not name specific files, tests, or entry points. Done would mean providing an optional network applet on the login screen so users can select Wi-Fi before remote credentials are verified.
