Description
Description:
After updating to kernel 7.0.0-28, the broadcom-sta-dkms package failed to build. The system lost Wi-Fi functionality because the Broadcom BCM4331 driver could not compile.
Reverting to kernel 6.14.0-37 restored Wi-Fi, and reinstalling broadcom-sta-dkms fixed the issue.
Hardware:
- MacBook Pro
- Broadcom BCM4331 (PCI ID 14e4:4331)
- Linux Mint 22.3 (based on Ubuntu 24.04)

Research direction
The report names no repository file, entry point, or test. Start by reproducing the broadcom-sta-dkms build failure with kernel 7.0.0-28 on the stated BCM4331 hardware and compare it with kernel 6.14.0-37. Done requires a confirmed cause and a verified build that restores Wi-Fi.
