Description
In the Software Sources mirror selector, all Base (Jammy) Ubuntu mirrors show "Unreachable" even though they are fully accessible via apt and curl. The issue affects Linux Mint 21.x, package mintsources 2.2.9.1 from 2024.
Basically this is the same issue as explained in this closed thread:
All Base (Noble) mirrors show "Unreachable" due to Cloudflare blocking pycurl's default user-agent on archive.ubuntu.com
#276
The reported problem has been resolved for Software Source 2.4.2 and above on LM 22.x, base Noble.
Software Sources 2.2.9.1 on LM 21.x requires the same change in order to be able again to connect to Ubuntu repo mirror servers and report their status correctly.

Research direction
Start by reading closed issue #276 and comparing the Software Sources 2.4.2 change for Noble with the 2.2.9.1 code used on Mint 21.x. Reproduce the mirror-status check against archive.ubuntu.com, then verify that Base (Jammy) mirrors are reported as reachable rather than "Unreachable".
