Research direction

No source files or tests are named in the report. Reproduce the freeze by choosing “Add missing keys,” then inspect the system log for the reported spin-lock messages and compare with issue #273 and Update Manager issue #1036. Done means the operation completes or reports an actionable error without requiring Force Quit.
