Description
Now that keyboard layouts have been reworked in Cinnamon 6.6 and IBus input methods are integrated better into the system, using fcitx is no longer necessary and setups for all languages can be done with IBus.
For all languages the algorithm seems to be just:
- Install the corresponding
ibus-*package(s) (and possibly fonts) - Open Input Method app and select the IBus input method framework
- Relogin/reboot
- In Keyboard > Layouts settings, add the corresponding layout
- (if needed) Configure the layout with "Configure"

Research direction
Locate the existing input-method instructions in the repository and compare them with the steps in this issue. Update the guidance to describe the IBus-based setup for all languages, including packages, the Input Method app, relogin or reboot, keyboard layouts, and optional configuration; done when the old fcitx guidance is no longer required.
