Issue
I use the "Copy a screenshot of an area to clipboard" action a lot because I provide web app feedback with screenshots. In Ubuntu, this works great. I have no need to save the screenshots for reasons described here.

The problem with Mint is that pressing that keyboard shortcut doesn't place the contents into the clibpoard. I see the selection rectangle, but after I release the mouse button, nothing gets placed into the clipboard.

To actually get the area into the clipboard I have to use the "Take a screenshot of an area" action, and even then, if I close the "Save screenshot" window after I click "Copy to Clipboard", the clipboard is emptied again. So I need to click that button, leave the window open, go to my application, paste the screenshot, then return to that "Save Screenshot" popup and close it. When you have to do this tens of times a day, and know it works fine in Ubuntu, it becomes surprisingly annoying to do it in Mint :)

Steps to reproduce
Press Shift+Ctrl+Print

Expected behaviour
Selected area ends up in the clipboard.

This seems like a deja vu and a problem that someone else must've run into already, but I couldn't find an existing bug, other than #5263, which was allegedly fixed.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue with Shift+Ctrl+Print on Cinnamon 4.6.7 and compare the two screenshot actions described in the report. Done means the selected area is placed in the clipboard directly and remains available after the save dialog is closed.
