Description

Linux Mint 18.1 64bit
Cinnamon 3.2.7

On new inserted group/category on MINT MENU the defined ICON is shown in edit-mode, but on Mint Menu, it isn't shown.

How to reproduce:

  • open menu editor
  • new group or category (don't know, i'm using german edition)
  • define the new category with name and ICON
  • ICON is shown in editor.
  • Close editor and open MINT MENU
  • New category name is shown but not the ICON

I'm using LM since Version 17, and this little but extremely ugly bug istn't fixed?!
I found the same bug reported for LM Version 15(!), too...

Please have a look to fix it and give a great looking experience to your menu :-)

Regards

Andreas

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue through the menu editor and Mint Menu on the stated Linux Mint and Cinnamon versions. Create a new group or category, assign an icon, close the editor, and reopen Mint Menu. Done means the category icon shown in the editor is also displayed in Mint Menu.
