Bug description

The bug in question happens when trying to use the eye-shaped Reveal Password button in the Wi-fi Password insertion window, which causes the Desktop Environment to crash and enter Fallback Mode. This happens consistently when trying to do it on the same network, across reboots, and across different networks.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Open the Wi-fi Applet
  2. Try to access a Password-protected Wi-fi Network without having the password memorized.
  3. Insert a password (does not have to be correct)
  4. Press the Eye-shaped Reveal Password button (may require multiple toggles)

If the above does not cause the effect to be reproduced, try to connect to the network with an incorrect password THEN try to press the Reveal Password button. A lenghtier password might also cause this bug to appear more consistently.

Expected behavior

The button should not cause the Desktop Environment to crash.

Research direction

Start at Cinnamon's Wi-fi Applet and reproduce the crash from the password-entry window by toggling Reveal Password, especially after an incorrect or lengthy password. Trace the password visibility toggle and verify that the desktop remains usable and does not enter Fallback Mode when the button is pressed repeatedly.
