Bug description

I use playerctl for audacious on my mediakeys as I ONLY want them to ever affect audacious.
It all works fine - until I restart: Then the play-pause functionality stops working and is only "play" (cannot toggle).
It starts working again when I just "re-apply" (changing nothing) the shortcut.

Steps to reproduce
  • requires audacious and playerctl apps (in this scenario)
  • remove play and pause mediakey shortcuts from sound and media default shortcuts
  • assign "playerctl -p "audacious" play-pause" as a custom keyboard shortcut assigned to mediakey play/pause (I do not have separate physical keys for play and pause)
  • verify it is working on audacious
  • restart
  • verify that the shortcut no longer can pause/play toggle - only play (restarts song)
  • verify that that simply re-assigning (not changing anything) the previous shortcut will restore play-pause functionality.
Expected behavior

Expected behavior would be that this last step (re-assigning each boot) is not necessary.

Research direction

Start by tracing Cinnamon's custom keyboard shortcut handling across restart and session restoration, then reproduce the issue with Audacious and playerctl -p "audacious" play-pause using the listed steps. Done means the custom media-key shortcut still toggles play and pause after restarting, without reassigning it.
