If you go to https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/ you can like apps, and those likes are displayed in the UI when you download new apps. However, there is no way to downvote, or even just to remove a like from an app.

This gives "first movers" a huge advantage: even if they are super buggy, as long as people like them initially, those likes get "locked in", and that app becomes the "best" app in the UI, irreversibly.

It should be trivially easy to make the website remove likes when the like button is clicked, and I'd even be willing to submit a PR of the front-end work, if desired.

Furthermore, it'd be really nice if the site had a "downvote" option also, so users could warn other users about apps ... but that would require more effort.

Go to https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/, like an app, try to unlike it

Expected behavior

You should be able to remove a like (what if you clicked accidentally?) Ideally you should even be able to indicate a "downvote" also.

Start at https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/ and inspect the front-end flow for liking an app. Reproduce the issue by liking an app and trying to unlike it, then make the like action reversible and verify that the UI no longer shows the like after removal; treat downvotes as a separate, optional request.
